I no longer feel nauseous. I just have a very annoying nose/congestion thing going on. Lots of sneezing and blowing. 😦 I talked with the triage nurse today and she said there is nothing she can do, but since I don’t have a fever she didn’t think it was the flu. She recommended saline nose drops and increased fluids. Oh goodie!

We are officially leaving for our trip on Friday. That is crazy soon and I have to admit that I am a bit stressed out and no where near ready to be gone for OVER.A.MONTH! That’s just crazy making!

Aidan decided to wake up this morning at 5:30 and chirp like a baby bird in his crib for an hour before Dad-Oh crowbarred himself out of bed and got him up. I tried to get him back to sleep numerous times but that wasn’t on his “to do” list. Needless to say by the time 10 am play group rolled around he was in NO mood to play nicely with his friends. He was a needy, heap of a toddler that melted at my feet each time I tried to set him down. We cut play group short, I went to work, Dad-Oh fed the big guy lunch and then he was out like a light. He WILL sleep past 6:30 tomorrow!

Off to watch Idol Hollywood week with Dad-Oh, and the Kleen-X box (for the snot, not because I’m gonna cry!) I’m a crier but I’m not that bad!

Equal Opportunity

Death showed up at my bedside around 2 am last night and summoned me to pay homage to the porcelain god. Evidently my husband’s post super bowl “intestinal distress” and son’s tummy ailments had to be shared equally with Mommy.

I pretty much was death warned over today. I had planned on sucking it up and going into work since I have to take an additional week of sick leave that was unplanned now that we are leaving early. I powered through the shower all the while psyching myself up for the day. After the shower the thought of actually putting clothes on my body seemed Herculean! It was then that I knew I would have to call in and march my ebloa stricken body back to bed.

I can’t remember the last time I spent so much time in bed. I watched way too much mindless TV, which included E!’s 50 Most Shocking Break Up’s and John and Kate Plus 8. I harnessed all my energy reserves to carry out the bath and bed time routine. And now, honestly I think I should go back to bed.

I’m not pukey or “intestinally distressed” any more. I am just worn out! Hopefully I can get a full night sleep and wake up refreshed and ready to go tomorrow! Otherwise Auntie Manda will have to send me a “get well soon gift!”

During our bath Aidan was obsessed with picking his nose! He has never done this before–ever. I don’t know if he just figured out that there were holes there conveniently sized for his index finger or if an entire day with Dad-Oh included some interesting activities! 😮

Tonight as Aidan and I were heading out the door to go play with Jazzie Aidan threw up all over. All over him, all over me, all over the floor–all over! I called for Dad-Oh to come downstairs and help us. He grabbed Aidan and we headed to the upstairs bathroom to strip down and hop in the shower.

Aidan seemed fine. No fever, no crankiness, no sleepiness. In fact Dad-Oh and I both commented on how happy he was today. After the bath we dress in comfy clothes and snuggled in my bed to watch Backyardigans. Except he didn’t want to lay down and snuggle he wanted to run around like a crazy person dancing to the songs. Wanting to avoid him plunging off the bed we moved his movie to the TV room. The kid was nothing out of the ordinary. We gave him a bit of banana and water then he and I played Starfall. Then I heard a very suspicious burp. I instinctively moved my cupped hand towards his mouth and caught a handful of pukey number two.

I will finish this post post haste tomorrow, I am trying to get him to sleep. I’ll try to post early I know you are concerned!

UPDATE: As of noon today Aidan seems FINE. Tired, but fine. We had a semi-difficult night. Not nearly as bad as I was anticipating. He woke up whimpering and dry heaving three times from 11 pm-1 am. Slept from 1 to almost 4. He was wide awake at 4 when I went to check on him so we cuddled in the guest room and watched Mickey for a while, changed his pamper, and he went willingly back to bed around 5 and slept until nearly 7. He woke up in a good mood, wanted food–obviously! Dad-Oh gave him some toast and water as a test. When that stayed down he had his morning Odwala breakfast bar, then finally a few bites of oatmeal. All which I am happy to report has remained in his tiny tummy. We went to play group as usual and he played as he always does. He was a bit disappointed when his usual running buddies were not there to play chase after all the toys were cleaned up! 😦

He was such a tired guy when we came home that he refused lunch and demanded his nap.  He fell asleep instantly!

Stupid flu shot! Stupid, stupid, stupid!!! Who ever decided to infect little babies with the virus to make them sick, so they won’t get sick is an idiot! 👿
