The Buggle Times: Month 14

Posted in Buggle Times, Motherhood, Parenting at 7:58 pm by Momma

Dearest Buggler Boy:

Earlier this week you turned 14 months old! So much has been going on, I didn’t know if I’d ever have a free second to write this post! But, alas you are asleep and I chose to put off my web design assignments another night! 😛

Gosh, where do I begin? This has been a huge month of growth for you. You have completely mastered the art of walking and have started taking a liking to running! After the Puppers mainly, but running nonetheless! You were able to hone your craft on our trip, so many places with wide open spaces for you to roam at will! Dad-Oh and I are still in utter shock when we think of how much you have grown, and how much of a little person you are. I know I say that in just about every post I write, but the amazement never gets old. I never am “over it” or “all done” because just when I come to terms with one milestone you go and blast past another. Time has flown by. Just today I was sitting at work and my slide show screen saver popped up with a picture of you in your “Baby’s First Halloween” jammies. Which was taken nearly one year ago. And I just stopped and watched as the pictures flashed by, and I couldn’t even believe what I was seeing! Where did the time go? Where have I been? “They grow so fast” has never meant so much to me as it did today!

Yeah, Mom?

I can’t say enough about our trip! It was the first real family vay-cay we have had. Dad-Oh and I were able to watch things through your eyes. It was indescribable! The exuberance, the vigor, the excitement you showed was worth its weight in gold. Let me put it in less schmoopy terms: I had so much fun watching you explore your world that I didn’t make it inside the Gap until hours before we boarded the plane home, and that was only because you were sleeping in the van with Dad-Oh. While you probably can’t fully appreciate what this means now, give it a few years…you’ll see! 😆

A few of the highlights from our trip:

The Children’s Museums: Seattle & Portland

I Love Water

Can’t Get Me!

Playing with other kids:

Deep Sea Adventure

Playing? Stealing? You be the Judge!

A few Firsts:

First time eating BACON:

First time in The Disney Store:

First time wearing boots:

Red Boots

Dad-Oh and I also took you to the Portland Zoo, and well lets just say you were a bit young to give a rip!

Here you are sleeping by the sea lion:

….the elephants…

And how you managed to sleep through the crazy, psycho Lorikeet aviary–I will NEVER know!

A Real Snoozer

As of late you have decided that you will no longer tolerate baby food. Some flavors were always a bigger hit than others, but now you scoff at them A.L.L. The only blended item you will let touch your lips is yogurt. I don’t know if the taste of bacon forever ruined your tiny taste buds, or if it was just that time. Which ever it was it is sad to me. Just another way you are showing me what a big boy you are! You have six teeth now. Four chompers on the top and two on the bottom. I have a feeling the bottom two will be having company sooner than later! You’re either teething or punishing me to eternal night time hell….I choose to think it’s the teeffers! Please?!

Onward and forward…in less than four weeks we all will be basking in the Hawaiian sun. I can hardly wait! This trip has been planned for months, and I can’t believe it’s almost here. You are going to have a blast in the water! You are such a little fish already, you’ll have gills by the time we come home! 🙂

Lastly, I am going to retire “Buggle.” You are so clearly a little boy now, and that was my baby name for you. It makes me sad and pine for the past, but it is time. You are my little man guy now. I don’t have another name just yet, for now you are Aidan-Daidan-Bo-Baidan. I don’t know if that is better or worse?! If anything it is just different, because you are different: You are a TODDLER! 😯

Seahawks Family

Bunches of Love,

  1. Auntie Manda said,

So, um is Burleson like Dad-Oh’s boy or something?

LOVE the Family Seahawks Portrait but HATE to see “Buggles” go. I was so hoping you would call him that at his high school graduation. You know, when we chaperone their Senior Party? 🙂

Happy 14 Months Big Boy! (I guess Tater and Auntie Manda should retire “Baby Aidan” as well?)

  2. Auntie Manda said,

P.S. Did you hand wash the jersey?!?! I don’t see the gargantuan pizza-grease stain! 🙄

  3. Pam said,

Ok, maybe it’s just my dirty mind, but I swear I had to do a double take of the elephant picture… it looked like one was “mounting” the other.

  4. Tiffany said,

So…I was thinking the same thing….don’t let the name go…he has to be old enough to know you used to call him buggles so he can think fondly of it…wait until he’s 16 or so to retire it 🙂

BTW…..major mommy points for keeping up with a website. I can barely wipe my kids nose everyday, let alone post a website.. bravo !! 😛
