One of THOSE Days!

Posted in Buggle Bite, Motherhood, Parenting at 9:36 am by Momma

Okay, so it’s official I am having a nervous break down! Yesterday was the ultimate day from H-E-Double-Hockey Sticks!
It started out bright and early with the PUPPERS not The Buggle waking me up all too early. Seems the five pounds of baby back ribs bones she stole from the garbage can didn’t sit too well in her tummy and she need to go out NOW. So I get up, walk downstairs and it seems she needed to go out about ten minutes ago! At least she pooped on the hardwood and not the carpet. She never has accidents inside the house, and she felt really bad and wouldn’t even eat her cookie. It sat on the carpet for hours, until I was about to leave and gave her some extra love and told her it was okay.

Okay, so one major fiasco down at least five more to go. I get all ready for the day, then proceed to feed and get The Buggle ready for his play date. It’s about 9 am and I call over to tell them we are on our way and low and behold no answer….great! I just got an infant all ready to go nowhere! So instead of getting him “unready” I decide to go on an outing with him. We headed down to the local drug store to buy a couple new binkies. (This town sucks so bad that only ONE place sells his bikies, and when I buy them on drugstore.com they always send me pink ones! errr) So we park and head in and the biker slot is bare–of course it is! I asked the lady when she’d have more in, and she gave me a very disgusted look like “how dare you bother me when I am busy dusting!” She proceeded to tell me that she has them in the back–since Saturday, but hasn’t gotten around to getting the out and that I couldn’t buy them now because they weren’t in the computer and that I’d have to come back in a couple of days!

Right on! So the day is shaping up to be a dandy! So The Buggle and I loaded back into the car and decided to go to the grocery store. We shop here and the main entrance is through a revolving glass door…can you guess where this is going? Yep! Me, The Buggle, and a really creepy bagger guy who kept pawing The Buggle’s head despite my requests not to got locked in the door for twenty minutes! Meanwhile the electrician is climbing in and out of ceiling tiles trying to “over ride the electrical shut down.” Oh great…have I pissed off the universe or what? So they manage to push door open enough for us to get out and go about our merry way. At this point I have to laugh because, well because it’s either that or curl up like a baby and bawl my eyes out, and since I’m supposed to the the adult I manage to pull it together.

We go home put the groceries away and play for about 25 minutes before we pick up the babysitter. I make darn sure that I do everything in my power to keep him awake in the car so he doesn’t fall asleep like he did the day before. We managed to get home with him awake and I put him down to what I thought was his normal nap, only to find out hours later that he woke up five minutes after I left. My mom manged to get him down around 2:30 and he woke up about a minute after I got home just after 3. I snuggled him and I think he was so relieved to see me that he drifted right back to dreamland and slept another hour. Which here in words, on the web sounds fantastic, but in reality if his nap runs too late it messes with his night time sleep routine. Which it did! He wakes up more, is more needy, fussy, and decides to begin his day far before he should!

Where’s Dad-Oh in this story? That’s an entirely different blog! Needless to say my contacts were out and teeth were brushed before he even got home! He stumbled in after 10 completely delirious and with a severely burned hand…again an entirely different blog….

The worst part about this whole situation is that I don’t even have my husband here to talk about this with! I am completely stressed out and trying to do everything I can to make things easier for him, but it’s only day four and I’m already running on empty.

Hopefully, today will be better! At least I’m trying to be optimistic!
