Ready, Set, Crawl!

Posted in Buggle Bite, Motherhood, Parenting at 10:09 pm by Momma

Now that The Buggle has mastered the art of sitting, Daddy has begun focusing his training on crawling. Momma’s still on the “you can stay IMmobile for as long as you like” plan, but Daddy has another agenda. Typically, when you put The Buggle on his tummy he flips back on to his back in–oh, .8 seconds. He then follows suit with a big gummy grin as if he’s saying, “Are you proud? Look how fast I flipped over! I did a good job, right?” After trying just about every toy, water bottle, and the puppers as bait to get him to postpone his flipping Daddy realized he needed to change his strategy. He realized that when he lays him flat on the ground he instantly flips over but, if he puts him on his hands and knees he’ll stay up a while longer–not much like 5-15 seconds. He seems to enjoy this found position.

Read, Set, GO!

As we practiced today he began understanding that maybe somehow, some way, he could coordinate his arms and legs in such a way to propel himself toward his puppers. Puppers of course, was about to have a heart attack. She was looking at me with her “anxiety eyes” and saying “Um, hello? People, people in case you haven’t noticed but the baby is MOVING!! And I’m pretty sure he wants to eat me!” Poor old girl doesn’t even know what she’s in for! ๐Ÿ˜›
