More to Come

Posted in Buggle Bite, Video, toddler, vacation tagged , at 5:36 pm by Momma

We took Aidan to the beach this morning and he LOVED it! He ran right towards it and flopped right in. Since it was before 9 am it was still a bit chilly. Watch his little face as the waves crash against his legs. If you watch really closely you can see the wind blow through all his hair! :P

I hope to have more commentary up tonight….

Casa De LUXURY

I could totally get used to this! Beautiful 80 degree days, plush accommodations, no socks… It is absolutely beautiful here. Not as plush and green as Kauai, but they have done a great job with the man made beauty.

The drive from the airport was a bit shocking. The entire 18 mile drive from the airport to the Wiakoloa Resort area is dark lava rock. There are no houses, no buildings, no Starbucks–nothing but rocks. I started thinking we had made a big mistake, until we turned into our luxurious gated accommodations! Our condo is a 3 bed, 2 bath unit with top of the line amenities. There is no 80’s brown here folks! :P Ironically there are enough bedrooms for all of us to have our own, but instead we all sleep in the master! We’re leaving the back “wing” for Jazzie and her fam!

Total Bliss

Yesterday after we all got settled in we took Aidan to the pool for a bit. There is an 18 inch toddler section that we thought he’d love, but turns out he likes the 6 inch section that has these special water chairs for sun tanning in the pool. We just moved them to the side a bit and he had himself a perfect little area to belly flop and slash around.

Pool Party

Aidan was such a good boy on the plane. Thanks to Tiffany :P we had the middle seat blocked and Aidan sat and read books for a while and then watched his movie a bit before taking an hour and a half siesta. He woke up happy and smiley and ready for some PBJ and Backyardigans! We had to collect our luggage and re-check in at the Honolulu airport and then endure another 35 minute flight to Kona. It was not ideal, Alaska Air needs a direct flight from Seattle to Kona. Maybe I’ll write the CEO!

Mr. Sandman

Wowie, do I have a couple of testy readers or what! :P Aidan has been sleeping like crapola at night, and waking up before the roosters in the morning. And since I didn’t have an easily accessable connection I chose sleep over updating. Tragic. I know!

Here is the real quick low down on what’s been going on in our neck of the woods.

First off, Mom I think you need to adjust your monitor because that is a DINOSAUR in the last picture–not a dog!

We are in Seattle now, we leave for 80 degree paradise tomorrow! I will also have the luxury of free wi-fi! So hopefully, I’ll be able to satisfy your need to read about my boring life on a daily basis!

While we were in Portland we took Aidan to two inflatable jumping places, OMSI, Children’s Museum, Bullwinkles fun zone, PB and Ellie’s and the mall about 10 times! He loves to run in wide open spaces, and the kid is fast!

Chillin on the Mini Golf Course

Everyone out there in blog land keep Dad-Oh’s Gramps in your thoughts. He is going in for another surgery tomorrow morning.

I hope to have The Aidan Daidan Times ready by this weekend, but for now I am heading to bed and fulfilling my wifely duties!

Hangin’ In There

In case my seven other readers missed Dad-Oh’s Dad’s comment about Grandpa’s surgery here is the latest.

We are very happy to report that Grandpa made it through his nearly 12 hour surgery like a champ. Doctors were pleased with the outcome, and were happy they were able to remove the tumor and reconstruct the muscle tissues by transplanting muscles from other parts of the body. Grandpa was downgraded from the intensive care unit today and is now in a less intensive care room in the hospital. He was apparently feeling chipper enough this morning around 5:30 am when he gave the house a wake up call to let them all know he was bored an wanted visitors–and food! :P Dad-Oh plans to visit tomorrow and I will know more then.

In Aidan news: we took the big guy to the Children’s Museum today. The TWENTY TWO dollar Children’s Museum!!! That is outrageous admission for an 18 month old! He really didn’t dig it as much as he did last time, he spent some time getting himself nice and wet at the water station band then he had enough and was ready to go! We would have been better off going back to the five buck Pump It Up! Don’t know what tomorrow will bring?

Hopefully, I will have some time tomorrow to load some pictures. I am way overdue for my blanket show! The little stinker woke up at 6:40 this morning, which doesn’t sound bad until you subtract the hour time change!!!

Loved It!

Posted in Buggle Bite, Motherhood, Parenting, family, toddler tagged , , at 12:34 pm by Momma

Pump It Up Junior rocks! It is perfect for kids up to about 5 or 6. It goes without saying that Aidan loved it. He played on the different bouncing things a bit, but mostly he loved RUNNING! He ran for over an hour straight! I wish he had a buddy from Sitka (vermont?) to stomp around with. He and Dad-Oh had a blast shooting some hoops!

He Shoot, He Scores!

He is now down for a much needed nap! The child has ran and exercised so much this trip it’s a wonder he’s not sleeping a solid 14 hours! I wish! He is getting better, but the first few nights were tough. He’d wake up wondering where the hell he was and not be able to put himself back to sleep. He’s used to sleeping with his block out sun shade, and since it’s light out he wants to play more! We’ve moved his porta crib into the bathroom for his naps. Yeah, kinda gross, but it has really made his naps much better! A napping toddler is a happy toddler!

I don’t know what’s on the agenda for tomorrow. We still haven’t gone to the Children’s Museum, and yes Pam, we love PB and Ellie’s too. It’s definitely on the list!

Go me on figuring out the picture thing! :P
