Pumpkin Patch and Other Fun Things

Posted in Buggle Bite, Motherhood, Parenting at 7:50 pm by Momma

My card reader rocks! It is about the size of a small Swiss army knife, seriously it’s smaller than my pinkie! :) It works fabulously, and here are my pictures to prove it!

My Punkins on Punkins

Here are the munchkins at the pumpkin patch. They both look so happy, don’t they?! Oh, well what can I say…I tried! Tater had a blast on all the rides and running around the farm, but a poorly planned timing on my part had Aidan asleep before he could enjoy anything! :( He slept for an hour or so, then woke up and romped around in the hay jump with Mommy and Dad-Oh.

What the heck?

I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore, Toto

He didn’t quite know what to think…Dad-Oh did manage to get one cute picture of Aidan and Mommy before he dosed off to dreamland:

Happy Halloween!

Today we took Aidan to the children’s museum to let him play with other children and have a fun day, but unfortunately he took a spill head first and got a bump on his little noggin and never quite recovered. Then we spent the rest of the day trying to navigate downtown Seattle and trying to get Dad-Oh’s six pack license renewed. And of course we had no luck because the people we talked to on the phone were idiots and told us the wrong info and he cannot proceed with the renewal process until he gets a physical and pee test. Which was not what we were told on the phone! ERRR. So the fun filled agenda for tomorrow includes peeing in a cup and having the ole turn and cough routine. Fun vay-cay, huh?! :P Then hopefully we can proceed to the coast guard to start the six month renewal process. Good times for all, especially Dad-Oh! I can’t quit on that note…so here you are:

Super Fast Update

Posted in Buggle Bite, Motherhood, Parenting at 8:02 pm by Momma

I know my three loyal readers are eager for an update, so I’ll write a teeny bit before heading for bed.

We made it to Seattle, obviously. We left Sitka on the most perfect day to leave, it was rainy, windy and just plain nasty. After some serious turbulence taking off in Sitka and taking off and landing in Ketchikan we arrived to beautiful sunny skies and 60 degrees! It’s beautiful here!

Auntie Manda, Dick and Tater made it down yesterday and we hit the pumpkin patch and a VERY disappointing Benihana’s. More on that later. We will NO LONGER let Dick pick our food venue! :P

To make a long story short our girls day was cut very short! Thanks to husbands who cannot function on their own. We did manage to get the BEST mani-pedis of our lives! I love it when they do good cuticle work.

I forgot my USB camera cable so I had to buy a card reader at Best Buy today. Otherwise my poor three readers would be without pictures for two whole weeks! See how good I am to you!

Unfortunately, the pictures will have to wait because I forgot the card reader in the fun bus van. Hey! Gimme a break I can’t do everything right!

That’s all for now…and YES I intend to finish Aidan’s Month 15 post!

It’s OUR Turn

Posted in Buggle Bite, Motherhood at 8:22 pm by Momma

Our last trips to Seattle have been all about Dad-Oh and Dick–and Dad-Oh’s Boy, you know Nate Burleson! We have a routine, drop off the guys downtown Seattle at Quest Field, wait 8-10 hours, get several ridiculously loud phone calls from the game in which not one word is understandable, wait even longer because they can’t remember if the number 94 or 96 bus takes them to the SeaTac airport, then finally after a very long day with Tater and Aidan we pick their intoxicated asses up at the airport, only to hear about their last ten hours in tandem detail. It’s quite the system–we should get a patent! :P

Well I am here to tell you that it is all about the girls this vay-cay! Oh yeah! Auntie and I have it all planned out: first mani’s and pedi’s, maybe a little retail therapy, a definite lunch minus highchairs, tippy cups, and any conversation that has any resemblance of “Dude, member when I told Nate Burleson that he was my boy!?” And then we’re going to take a few more hours because damn I just can’t remember which bus will get us back to the airport! I.Can’t.Wait. It’s all very exciting!

Two more days of work and then we are out of here! This is worse than waiting for Christmas! :D

In other news, meet Madison. She is one of Aidan’s play group buddies. Her Daddy has a blog. Maybe you remember her from gymnastics this summer! Could she be any cuter?!

Get Well Soon, Jazzie Girl

Posted in Motherhood, Parenting at 8:44 pm by Momma

Aidan’s little love bug took a tumble on Friday and broke her left leg! Poor little doodle! She has been in a soft splint since Friday afternoon. She was supposed to have a permanent hard cast put on today to wear for six very long weeks, but after more x-rays it turns out she only needs her soft splint cast on until next Friday! Can you believe it! It is absolutely crazy how fast kids heal! Her little body had already started to repair the broken bone in three short days! Aidan visited Jazzie on Saturday and brought her a comfy little lounge suit to relax and recover in. If you wouldn’t have been able to see the cast you would NEVER know anything was ever wrong with the little doodle! She was all smiles, and just as happy as ever to see her boyfriend! And believe it or not she can still wiggle herself around on her bum!

Jazzie the Trooper

This picture was taken the night she took her tumble! It is amazing how resilient kids are! I’m jealous! Little Jazzie girl is a little gentle flower compared to my rough and tumble dare devil munchkin. Take a gander at his new “I believe I can fly” trick! The little stinker had never done this before nor has he done it since. Showing off for the camera? I think so! Pay no attention to the crazy Mommy’s In Shock voice.

Happy Blogaversary To Me

Posted in Buggle Bite, Motherhood, Parenting at 2:37 pm by Momma

I made it! One whole year of blogging! It was one year ago today, that I decided that mass emails containing pictures and various Aidan updates was not going to cut it. I was getting overwhelmed with people not being able to open attachments, wondering why they were left out of the email loop, and wanting me to send pictures in different formats. It was crazy making! So I took a leap and created my first blog on wordpress, since then I have obtained my very own domain name and own a little piece of Internet heaven! :P

I never thought I would become so consumed with blogging. I have met so many wonderful Mommy friends that have helped me along the path of parenting. People that I have never even met, have let me into their lives and shared the good and bad of being a Mommy. It has been an amazing resource! And I thank you, you, you and you (okay, so I have met you two). Dooce remains my true blogging inspiration. Her ability to find humor in the most tragic of scenarios is a trait I wish I could call my own.

I virtually hold my glass up and give cheers to you all–here’s to another year of a wonderful life!

And for a little reminiscing don’t forget to check this out!
