The Buggle Times: Month 9
Dearest Buggler Boy,
Today you turn nine months old. Another month that flew by before my eyes! It blows my mind to think I have a nine-month old son! Everyday that goes by the more grown up you get, you are becoming such a “little man guy!” With an amazing personality. This month you showed us your feisty side. Dad-Oh swears it comes from me, but I can name a few feisty relatives on his side too! Your name does mean, “Fiery one” so we were kinda asking for it there…
This was a big month developmentally! You are an absolute pro at climbing up in your crib. One night before tubby time Dad-Oh and I had you in there “exercising” and you must have went up and down over twenty times in less than a minute! You’ve learned how to let yourself down gently so you don’t bounce backward and smack your little noggin on the backside of the crib! A smart little cookie you are! Last night when you called for me for your middle of the night snack session I came in to your room to find you STANDING UP waiting for my arrival! Oh, dear!!! It has begun! We might be lowering the crib yet again sooner than later!
You have on several occasions stood upright by yourself for several seconds at a time, but today you took three unassisted steps with your car-walker. We wish we had the camera handy but sadly it was not! You are mastering getting yourself into a sitting position from your back and tummy. You pull yourself up on everything you can find! People, couches, toys, Puppers, but your very favorite is your crib. Inside or outside it doesn’t matter!
Your diet has really expanded this month. We have added lots of new tastes and textures to your menu. You love fresh fruit! Watermelon, grapes, strawberries, and cantaloupe have been sampled. We tried fresh mango, but I don’t think it was ripe so I threw it out before you got to it–sorry!
Surprisingly, you like plain cottage cheese. You didn’t mind the bumpy texture at all, just mashed it around, swallowed, and opened wide for more! Mashed potatoes are another big hit! French fries are our saving grace when we are out at a restaurant! As long as you have your “fry-fry” you’re good to go! A few weeks back Momma fixed you scrambled egg yolks (no white’s until you’re one–sorry!) and you about died and went to heaven! Well…What do you think?
We are happy to finally report that we will not be needing to fit you for infant dentures! Yes, we have visual evidence of one, potentially two pearly whites popping up on the bottom of your mouth. It’s still too early to capture on film, but I guarantee those little teethers will make their Internet debut very shortly!
This video speaks for itself! You have mastered your walker! I think you could win the gold in the Alaska Baby Invitational! You’re totally independent at the gym now. Coming and going as you please. The only way we can coax you to do as we wish is to tempt you with the cell phone! Otherwise, you have places to go and people to see!
My little ladies man invited his first girl back to his crib–literally! An older girl even! Sorry Bud, Dad-Oh was not allowed to be alone in his room with the door closed with me until he was nearly 18, so we kept with the tradition and even paid close attention to all little hands and fingers!
You love to play! You have really started understanding how to play with all your toys! You can throw all kinds of different balls, shockingly well! You rock your caterpillar all by yourself. You have even figured out how to push the tiny buttons inside the ball holes of your dinosaur to make it play music without pushing the ball through!
Dad-Oh and I are having so much fun with you now, not that we weren’t before. But now that you are older and receptive to your environment it’s a whole new world! The sporadic sunshine helps tremendously too! Sadly, in seventeen days the fishing season starts and Dad-Oh will be gone much more than we’d care to think about!
Hopefully, things will go flawlessly and we will still be able to have lots of family time and enjoy your first summer together!
You have grown so much these last 30 days I can’t imagine what new things I will be writing about in another 30! My little Aidan Daidan Buggle’s you give me life, hope and have shown me a kind of love that is indescribable to anyone who is not a Momma! I love getting up each and everyday (and night) to your smiling face. I’m so lucky to be your Momma!
Bunches of Love,
Momma

Buggle In A Box
A few weeks ago Dad-Oh and I went to town looking for a rocking horse for The Buggle and came back empty handed. With a rocking horse that is, we did manage to find him a push-car-walker thingy. Still wanting to find him some sort of rocking apparatus I scoured Ebay. Because, after all you can find IT on Ebay! Glorious Ebay! I found him the perfect rocking caterpiller. Since it was an over sized item, it would have to go slow boat.
We got the little slip in our box on Saturday after the post office was closed. So Dad-Oh picked it up yesterday morning. I see him enter the house with a box big enough to BE a house. When he sat it down and I looked at the postage stamp…$83.75 to ship! That was $43.75 more than I paid! I guess she learned her lesson about adding the “Alaska and Hawaii” clause! I am shocked she didn’t contact me for more money!
I think The Buggle had as much fun in the box as he did with the toy!

Family Fun Day
Ah, another sunny day!
We had a great day together as a family today. After The Buggle’s morning nap we headed out to the Sawmill Farm when Aidan was introduced to Avalanche and Cocoa; two week old baby goats. He didn’t quite know what to think of them, but you could tell that he knew they were different from his Puppers. The snarffy pigs really through him for a loop. He kept turning his head away, trying to hide from them. Then he’d whip back around to make sure they were still there playing along with his game of hide and seek.
After all the excitement from the farm The Buggle took a cat nap in the car before we headed to SJ Gym. Between scheduled events the gym is usually always empty. They have the exact same walker as we do and a whole lot more open space for The Buggle to run free! Check out how he gets around! Soon he’ll be posting up and blocking Dad-Oh’s shots!
