Ninety Nine Cents a Minute
For our three year anniversary Daddy got Auntie Manda and I web cams. The idea was she could see and talk to the Buggle and I could see and talk to Tater. Isn’t that sweet? So after Auntie hooked herself up with a home Internet connection (finally!) I mailed it off. Last night she called and said she got it and that playing on the web cam was far more stimulating than watching The Backyardigans.
After completing the installation we were on our way to web cam bliss–well not quite! After nearly forty minutes we finally got it together enough to see each other, without audio. We messed around on the phone a while then had to cut it short due to pending bedtimes. The installation CD included a “free trial” for a messaging software. Then I think it was something like $30 a year, um no thanks.
So after the Buggle went down I proceeded to uninstall that program and download a free version through Yahoo. I sent her an invitation and the today when she downloaded her’s we were on our way to web cam bliss–well not quite. We got it figured out enough to see each other and she could hear me, but for some reason I couldn’t hear her. So as we were trouble shooting various possibilities she says, “Are your speakers turned up?” Um, hello?! I’m a ditsy sleep deprived blonde, but I’m not that brain dead!
So, we still have a few kinks to work out but, soon I tell you we will be in web cam bliss!

MTV No More
You know you’re a Mommy when you can’t name one song on the Billboard Top 20, but you know all the words to The Backyardigans theme song, and hum it all day long!

Harvard Here I Come!
I should have probably included this with this months The Buggle Times, but it was getting lengthy and I kinda forgot at the time…
One of Daddy’s clients this summer told him about this website that his wife uses to help teach her ESL students English. His little 15 month old daughter also took a liking to it and her speech and vocabulary really took off after using it regularly.
So of course wanting to waste no time, Momma and Buggle have been logging on every night and practicing our letters. The Buggle loves the colors, songs and animation. The site is free and has a variety of levels from basic letters and sounds, all the way to advanced reading.
The Buggle’s witching hour begins right around 6:15 pm where nothing seems to make him happy. So we have started making this our letter time, and most nights he will sit and watch the screen for 20-30 minutes. He even reaches for and tries to type on the keyboard. So cute!
Most mornings after he eats and is still kinda waking up for the day is our story time. We read board and fabric books, the ones with the really thick pages. After I am done reading the pages I will lift my thumb off the right side of the page so it pops up. That’s his cue to turn the page. He uses both hands to slam the page to the other side. He is so pleased with himself! He waits patiently until the next page pops up then does it all over again.
The Buggle is barely five months old and already on the road to the ivy league! After all, he is the SR, you know! (Right Auntie?)

It’s Here!
I think he’ll have a few more Bad Hair Days in the future, since Momma & Daddy were both cue balls until the age of two! Sorry Buddy! Baldness, and poor eye sight are in your genes!
